THE Phantom of the Image
The Phantom of the Image, 2016
Digital and Physical Installation

My reality is constructed from memories which are the phantoms of images taken through the timeline of my conscious experience.
This is a space that flows between physical and digital worlds— objects and stories that bounce between the two. There are physical objects created by digital memories, and digital objects created by physical memories. It is a collection of artifacts and experiences from my reality.
Even the objects and images currently present are a phantom. At the root, they are undefinable and dependent upon assumptions and past experiences.
What defines ‘reality’? On whose authority are certain senses prioritized over other senses? On whose authority are certain experiences and moments categorized as Real or Unreal? Is any memory objective? Is reality? What if we are all but the dream of a bear in hibernation?
